The location near the Duomo is great. Room was adequate.
Staff was not friendly. Very rigid about their 2 hour breakfast period. Would have been nice to be able to grab a cup of coffee/tea during the day or had something in the room.
The hotel is located literally a stone's throw from the Duomo in Florence. The hotel is wonderful, clean, well operated and as centrally located as one could hope for. They offer a nice breakfast. Windows from the hotel sitting room literally open to a direct view of the Duomo. Parking is available, if you telelphone in advance and arrange to have someone take your car and move it to an off-site parking location. The area is very safe and easy walking distance to almost all historic sites and many restaurants and lots of shops.
The hotel is located on a street that is about 20 feet long, and local residents don't even know the name of it. It is literally an alley off a main street leading to the Duomo. The entrance is dishearteningly nondescript, but you take an elevator to the third floor and enter the hotel proper, which is wonderful. This is an exceptional value for the dollar. Each morning you awaken to hear the bells of the Duomo.
Actually I was surprised of the professionalism of the hotel staff. They called me a day before the arriving and ask me if is ok to stay in other hotel “Di Lanzi Hotel” in the same commercial conditions because they have some technical problems. The architecture of the Di Lanzi Hotel is great and is situated in the heart of old city. From my window I had a great view on the dom and on the entrance of hotel the best grom ice cream shop.
My experience with hotel Bigallo was horrible!I Had booked hotel Bigallo but instead of that they led us to hotel de Lanzi!Noone told us anything and they told us that they were renovating it.Then I found out that they always do this,it is a kind of a method.Hotel de Lanzi is an old building,it has nothing to do with a hotel.dusty carpets,no fridge, bad decoration, old fashioned, awful hotel!Stay away from this hotel!!!
Location, view at the dome which is located 10 meters from hotel. All facilities worked correctly.
Not at all reachable by car! Do not try, it is no use. No minibar. Beds were terrible! Back ache all over and elevator did not work always so we had to go up three levels by stairs.
Location of this hotel is superb. It is in the bull's eye of the historic city center. Friendly, clean and value for money. We would stay there again.
The Breakfast., the Coffee and some (one) staff was not friendly.
Staff was nice, especially Anna at the reception. great location.
Best view in town overlooking Duomo. Roomy and comfortable. Excellent facilities and continental breakfast. The best in town just outside your hotel room.
The location is great right in front of duome.
I won't stay there again as: -u feel u r in the 60s looking at the hotel - I didn't get a clean feeling about the hotel with mosiquote and cockroach. The entrance to the hotel at ground level ( hotel is at 3rd floor) is quite untidy. I think do not compromise on cleanliness and tidiness just for location. Its not value for money with Euro 150 a night and no cancellation.
The location is awesome. Rooms well furnished, nice and with view of the Florence Duomo. Breakfast is really good and buffet style. Had a great stay.
Due to not finished refurbishment in hotel Bigallo we have been moved in their sister hotel de Lanzi. Information was just sent by email when we were already on our way to the hotel. So it occurred inconveniences. It was hard to find a place to park a car near the hotel. Breakfast was poor.
The location is great. Rooms are clean and cool... Felt like we were staying in renaissance times. Price for location and quality is good.
Staff could smile once in a while. The night staff is great. The day staff seemed like they were in a bad mood. The breakfast ladies are great though!
Great location, easy walking area.
Very difficult to get luggage up to the reception on the third floor. Very grumpy morning staff (women). Gave us lectures about not taking coffee I our room. If you do take coffee etc. they have sign that says they will charge you - unreasonable. Breakfast was ok, but all bread was stale. This is a good location however, must bring earplugs as there is noise all night.
Location was excellent. Rooms were big enough for a hotel in the city center of Florence.
Hotel staff was not helpful enough. We asked for extra towels and they wanted to charge us addiitonally. Moreover, we left the hotel to go to the airport (taxi was not possible due to Marathon) and they gave us wrong information about a train going to the airport (there was not such a train)
The location was amazing. We had a view of the Duomo Plaza for the Easter festivities--such a great memory for me and the kids. The two-story room was great with the kids sleeping up in the loft.
The breakfast could have used more options. It was a bit sparse for a hotel at this price and location.
